Author Biography <\/strong><\/p>\n

Born in Punjab, Raj Loomba is a successful British-Indian businessman, who in 1997 decided to dedicate his life to supporting destitute widows. In 25 years the Loomba Foundation\u2019s education and empowerment programmes have transformed the lives of hundreds of thousands of widows and their dependants and led the United Nations in 2010 to designate 23 June every year as International Widows Day to drive global action. Now a member of the UK\u2019s House of Lords, Loomba continues to champion the cause of the world\u2019s poorest and most marginalised people, determined to eradicate the Scourge of discrimination once and for all.<\/p>\n
