NavRiseup India Care Foundation: Empowering Grassroots Development in Education and Healthcare
Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], September 14: NavRiseup India Care Foundation was founded in the year 2023 by Rakshith Ramesh Iyer and Vijaya Ramanathan and is dedicated to ensuring the holistic development of women and children when it comes to education and healthcare. Inspite of the development India has made since its independence in August 1947 – a lot is yet to be done to improve the country’s infrastructure on education and healthcare especially at the grassroots level.
NavRiseup’s focus is to address the developmental challenges at a grassroots level with an ambitious aim of eradicating gaps in the health and education infrastructure at the lowest tier.
In order to achieve this aim – NavRiseup’s robust team of volunteers actively help on organising various community outreach activities. Within one year of its establishment, NavRiseup’s team has grown to 30 volunteers who direct the NGO’s on field activities as well manage online resources.
NavRiseup has so far successfully conducted 21 activities targeting children in support schools and womenfolk from the lower income groups. The range of activities start from organising blanket drives for displaced homeless people, conducting arts and crafts workshops for primary school children to organising menstrual hygiene awareness camps for women and girls. This further demonstrates our NGO’s flexibility when it comes to targeting need based social causes. Our activities have successfully created an impact for more than 1000+ families across the demographic. While our operations and activities are most conducted in Mumbai and Thane, the NGO also has a presence in Kerala and aims to expand its reach to the state in the near future.
Key Events –
NavRiseup conducted its widely successful Menstrual Hygiene Drive in March, 2024. Our on field volunteers distributed approximately 700-800 sanitary napkins to underprivileged women and girls. This was also accompanied by an informative session on the importance of maintaining proper menstrual hygiene, addressing common misconceptions and empowering women to take responsibility for their health.
Our NGO also organised Career Counselling Camps aimed at high school and undergraduate female students. This activity aligned with our larger goals of spreading awareness about different career parts either the help of industry experts. 100 students who attended the information session received valuable insights on the nuances of legal career which aspired them to dream bigger. The NGO regularly organises education focused activities. We have also distributed stationery to 500 children in support schools across Thane, Aurangabad, Satara Ahmednagar, and Amravati.
